WEEK 5
Meet Charlie! She's a Whoodle, also known as a Wheaton-Poo. Charlie is 11 weeks old, super playful and affectionate...and now, she is MINE!
Charlie has very quickly become a bright spot for me in this whole situation. When I think about the measures and sacrifices we all have to take to get through this pandemic, I like to think about what a gift Charlie is for me and my family. My entire life I have wanted a dog and the timing has never been right. Puppies need care. Puppies need training. Puppies need...our time. Charlie will always be the thing I remember about this period we are living through. That as hard as this is - and it is hard - my life is forever changed for the better in the end. I know we are all navigating different aspects of hardship but I am grateful for the positivity I get to see in this newsletter every week. I would love to hear more from all of you: What are your bright spots? Your rainbows? What are YOUR Charlies? See below for how you can submit your positivity. Content is due every Thursday by 9:00 AM. |
Giving back
Atlantic Healthcare update:
Thanks to everyone’s generosity we were able to send lunch to the Atlantic Health Construction Groups at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Overlook Medical Center and Atlantic Health Ambulance Corp./EMTs last week.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity we were able to send lunch to the Atlantic Health Construction Groups at Morristown Memorial Hospital, Overlook Medical Center and Atlantic Health Ambulance Corp./EMTs last week.
- We received over $5,000 from JLL NJ employees and brokers
- In addition to helping Atlantic Healthcare employees and first responders, the money raised has helped several small business who provided the food and were extremely grateful for the business
- Terry Harris got JLL corporate to match the donations and will send the matching gift to Feed America
- If anyone still wants to contribute, we will still take money and continue the cause and we may shift food contributions to other first responders and health care workers outside of Atlantic Healthcare. We welcome any ideas for additional recipients.
My daughter, Jess, has been taxing the UPS and Amazon delivery drivers during this quarantine – receiving tie dye kits, healthy ingredients and even an air fryer all to help our quarantine experience feel a little easier. So she wanted to let them know how much they are appreciated! Our postman, UPS/Amazon drivers and our garbage men were all recipients of her healthy treats. This week it’s brownies!

The Princeton office also took time to thank their local healthcare workers, by donating sandwiches, chips and drinks to Princeton (Penn Medicine) Hospital.

Spotlight HERO's
Here is a picture of my husband, Christopher, myself, our son, Andrew, and daughter, Laura having a fun pre-COVID-19 family vacation to celebrate their 21st and 23rd birthdays. All three of them are full time EMTs for our local ambulance organization, Sterling EMS Alliance, as well as volunteers for Magnolia Ambulance Corps. The other two photos are my husband in the full PPE suit getting ready to go into patient’s home and my son re-stocking an ambulance after a call. I am so proud of them!

Which one can you relate to?
Can you believe we are nearly six weeks into our shelter at home quarantine?! Being cooped up all day with your family – trying your best at homeschooling or staying away from the fridge – might be driving you a little crazy, so to lighten the mood, here are a few hilarious quotes we found online to make giggle.
“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” ~E.E. Cummings
“The most wasted of all days is one without laughter.” ~E.E. Cummings
- I used to spin that toilet paper like I was on Wheel of Fortune. Now I turn it like I'm cracking a safe.
- I need to practice social-distancing from the refrigerator.
- Still haven't decided where to go for Easter ----- The Living Room or The Bedroom
- PSA: every few days try your jeans on just to make sure they fit. Pajamas will have you believe all is well in the kingdom.
- Homeschooling is going well. 2 students suspended for fighting and 1 teacher fired for drinking on the job.
- I don't think anyone expected that when we changed the clocks we'd go from Standard Time to the Twilight Zone
- This morning I saw a neighbor talking to her cat. It was obvious she thought her cat understood her. I came into my house, told my dog..... we laughed a lot.
- So, after this quarantine.....will the producers of My 600 Pound Life just find me or do I find them?
- Quarantine Day 5: Went to this restaurant called THE KITCHEN. You have to gather all the ingredients and make your own meal. I have no clue how this place is still in business.
- I hope the weather is good tomorrow for my trip to Puerto Backyarda. I'm getting tired of Los Livingroom.
- Day 6 of Homeschooling: My child just said "I hope I don't have the same teacher next year".... I'm offended.
